Researching Antibiotics

Watched everything in your Netflix queue? Looking for something new? Check out the upcoming “WildHealing” episode of the PBS program, Ecosense for Living, featuring former GCA Scholar Dr. Cassandra Quave. A medical ethnobotanist, she and her team search the world for life-saving plant-based medicines. The episode on May 10 focuses on their work to identify new antibiotics at a time of growing antibiotic resistance. 

Dr. Quave was awarded the Anne S. Chatham Fellowship in Medicinal Botany in 2007. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Emory University and curator of the Emory Herbarium.
