HORTICULTURE The Catherine H. Beattie Fellowship Created to promote the conservation of rare and endangered flora in the United States through the programs of the Center for Plant Conservation head- quartered at the Missouri Botanical Garden. The re- search grant enables a student in biology, horticulture, or a related field to conduct field research. Preference is given to students whose projects focus on rare and endangered flora of the Carolinas and the southeastern United States. Selection is by a panel of botanists ap- pointed by the CPC.
