| FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS The GCA Interchange Fellowship & RHS McLaren Horticultural Scholarship P rovides a reciprocal exchange of British and American graduate students in horticulture, landscape architecture, botany, environmental studies or related fields. The intent of the program is to foster cultural understanding, promote horticultural studies and exchange information. The RHS McLaren Horticultural Scholarship provides a ten-month noncredit work/study program in Great Britain for an American recipient selected by the GCA Scholarship Committee. The program is funded and administered by the Royal Horticultural Society. The RHS McLaren Horticultural Scholarship offers exceptional access to the horticultural landscape of Great Britain. Opportunities are available for study, research and practical work at The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew and Edinburgh and gardens of the Royal Horticultural Society and the National Trust. Internships at the Eden Project and an optional semester at Reading University or Sheffield University may also be arranged. The scholarship provides funding for transportation, housing, tuition and an allowance for personal needs. The GCA Interchange Fellowship provides for a British recipient to attend a graduate program in horticulture, landscape architecture, botany or environmental studies at a U.S. university for one academic year or a student gardener may undertake a non-academic work placement to experience US gardens and learn about American horticultural techniques and regional plant species. The British student is chosen by a panel from The Royal Horticultural Society and The McLaren Trust. The program in the U.S. is funded by the GCA and administered by the GCA Scholarship Committee.
