"Betsy" Pringle, who resides in Chapel Hill, North Carolina is known throughout the Southeastern states for her extraordinary garden of woodland plants, mostly natives. She shares her garden with countless visitors. The GCA Horticulture Committee and the Board of Directors of the Garden Conservancy have both been her guests.. Her garden has been described as "a horticulturalist's dream". Betsy has been a speaker at many Zone VII and Zone VIII clubs on topics ranging from "Air-Layering Rhododendrons" to "Magical Moss Gardens" The late Elizabeth Lawrence was her personal friend and mentor. Betsy is also an accomplished artist whose large canvases interpret the effects of light on the landscape and are in collections across the U.S. Her family has been in the forefront of and generous donors to several conservation initiatives in her native state of South Carolina.
