Holly is an internationally recognized environmental horticulturist, consultant, and educator. She is working closely with the American Horticultural Society as a Board member and is head of their Awards Program. She is also on the Board of The American Botanical Council, based in Austin, Texas. Holly was the Executive Director of the United States Botanic Garden for fourteen years. Currently she writes for her Town's monthly publication and leads their Environmental Committee. Having designed and installed a wildlife habitat garden and worked on many regenerative projects, her Town was awarded recognition as a Sustainable Maryland Town. In 2020 Holly wrote and illustrated a children's book with a conservation message. - the book is: Figgy and. Fiona Search for a Home. Holly was a host of the Victory Garden television show on public television for twelve years. She has worked in many parts of the world, leads plant tours internationally, and is an international Flower Show Judge.
In 2020 Holly was awarded the Scott Medal and Award for outstanding national contributions to the art and science of horticulture. She has received many awards for her work. Most importantly, Holly is committed to healthy gardening for people and the environment, regenerative gardening, and stewardship of natural resources.
