Jane G. Pepper is past president of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, which she led from 1981 to June 2010.
A native of Scotland, Pepper is a trustee of Longwood Gardens, Inc., a director of The PNC Financial Services Group and the Natural Lands Trust. In addition, she is chair of the Selections Committee for the Eisenhower Exchange Fellowships Philadelphia International Leadership Initiative and a vice president of the Royal Horticultural Society, London.
She holds a master's degree in public horticulture administration from the Longwood Graduate Program and a bachelor's degree in plant science both from the University of Delaware. She also has an associate of science degree in landscape design from Temple University. In October 2014, she was the recipient of the Scott Arboretum of Swarthmore College's Arthur Hoyt Scott Award. Her other awards include the Royal Horticulture Society's Gold Veitch Memorial Medal, the Massachusetts Horticultural Society Grand Gold Medal, the Wyck-Strickland Award, the Magee Hospital Humanitarian Award, the Pennsylvania Society Award, and the Distinguished Achievement Medal of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.
