Jim Schuster

After 37 years as Extension Educator, he is now Extension Specialist – Pesticide Safety Educator, Plant Pathology, Crops Sciences Department at the University of Illinois. He has a B.S. in Ornamental Horticulture and a M.S. in Plant Pathology. He teaches more than fifteen hundred commercial horticulturists and home gardeners each year, and has received many awards and honors including a distinguished service award for his educational efforts and programs in horticulture.

In 2011 Jim Schuster retired from the University of Illinois Extension after working 42 years. During his career Jim advanced from a county educator to an area educator and then to state educator. Jim still continues to answer plant disease questions via e-mail, guest lectures at some advance master gardener programs and is a frequent guest on the PBS Mid America Gardener TV. program.Member since 2002.
