Katy Moss Warner has served for over twenty years in many leadership roles at the American Horticultural Society (AHS): on the Board of Directors (1992-2000), as President and CEO (2002-2006), and currently as President Emeritus. She has also been active with America in Bloom (AIB), serving on its Board of Directors and judging many cities nationally and internationally since 2007 for the organization that promotes nationwide beautification with an emphasis on community involvement.
Ms. Warner trained in Landscape Architecture at the University of Arizona and was a Longwood Fellow in Public Garden Administration at the University of Delaware/Longwood Gardens. For 24 years--1976-2000--Ms. Warner worked as a professional horticulturist at Disney managing the landscapes of theme parks, resort properties and roads on the 30,000-acre property, retiring as Director of Horticulture and Environmental Initiatives at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. In 2000 she was awarded the Loeb Fellowship of the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
Ms. Warner has a passion for gardens and gardening, hosting many garden tours for the AHS throughout the world. Her primary areas on interest include:* Landscape Architecture * Horticulture * Environmental Responsibility and Sustainability * Gardens and Gardening and * Ethnic Dance. Member since 2000.
