Sir Kenneth is the Chairman of the GCA/RHS Interchange Fellowship. The Royal Horticultural Society succeeded Mrs. Martin McLaren in running and financing the British side of the Exchange. He was a Conservative Member of Parliament from 1979-97 and served in several ministerial positions. For his achievements he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1994. He has served on The Council of the Royal Horticultural Society and in 2004 The Royal Agricultural Society of England awarded him the Bledisloe Gold Medal for landowners in recognition of his conservation work. He and Lady Carlisle are frequent and gracious hosts for the American Interchange Fellows at their Elizabethan home, Wyken Hall which features extensive gardens, woodlands, ponds and wildflower meadows. Member since 2008.
