Horticulturist, landscape preservationist and educator, Lucy managed the horticultural operations at Filoli Center in Woodside, a property of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, from 1977 to 2012. She developed and administered the professional gardener training and the garden volunteer programs. Recipient of the 1991 Professional Citation from the American Association of Botanical Gardens and Arboreta. She served as the Coordinator of the Pacific Region of the AABGA (1996-2000) and chaired the Historic Gardens and Landscape Committee. A founding board member of the Gamble Garden Center in Palo Alto, she served on the advisory committee. She collaborated in the writing of The Great Book of Pears, which features Filoli's heritage orchard. Lucy departed Filoli in 2012 to embark upon a new chapter in her life. She, and husband Jonathan now reside at the family ranch, Ojai Vineyard Farm, where she currently spends her days growing organic fruits, vegetables, cut flowers, and herbs. Member since 2001.
