Page Dickey's distinguished career spans over 30 years. She is an esteemed gardener, garden designer and author of multiple books and articles on gardening. Her former garden at Duck Hill, in North Salem, New York, was nationally known and has been featured in many publications. Sadly, its ownership and landscape have changed. Some of her books include Embroidered Ground, The Gardens of Spirit and Place and Dogs in Their Gardens. She and her husband sold Duck Hill and moved to Northwestern Connecticut about five years ago – the subject of her latest book and the topic for lectures, Uprooted: A Gardener Reflects on Beginning Again (Timber Press, September 2020).
She has also written articles for magazines such as House and Garden, House Beautiful and Elle Décor. Ms. Dickey serves on the board of The Garden Conservancy and co-founded The Garden Conservancy's "Open Days" program, America's only national garden-visiting network, which has grown from 110 participating gardens in 1995 to more than 3,000 today. She sits on the board of Stonecrop Gardens in Cold Spring, New York and teaches at The New York Botanical Garden and The New York Horticultural Society. Ms. Dickey also lectures throughout the U.S. on plants and garden design. She has received awards from The Garden Writers Association of America, Quill and Travel (Certificate of Merit for Duck Hill Journal) and American Horticultural Society, and a Book Award for Breaking Ground.
Ms. Dickey's passion for gardening and her important contributions to the gardening community at large dovetail perfectly with the goals set out by The Garden Club of America. Her primary areas of interest include: * Garden Design *Plants and Gardening and *Writing and Lecturing about Gardening.
Page Dickey was proposed by Rusticus Garden Club, seconded by Bedford Garden Club.
