Whether welcoming visitors to her own garden, or receiving an award for advancing the work of horticulture and historic preservation, Patti's charm and deep conviction for horticultural preservation and garden design make an impact. An expert gardener herself, she has been a board member of the Garden Conservancy since its inception and is a founding member of the Charleston Horticultural Society and the Low Country Garden Club. She and her husband Peter have renovated two nineteenth century properties, creating beautiful homes and gardens, one of which is included in the Smithsonian's Archives of American Gardens.
