Dr. Peter Del Tredici is Senior Research Scientist, Emeritus at the Arnold Arboretum, Harvard University, and a visiting lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has inspired and captivated audiences with his enthusiasm, knowledge and humor. Peter is an expert on the natural history and cultivation of Ginkgo bilboa, and has done extensive research on magnolias, hemlock trees and Stewartias. His recent focus has been on urban ecology and climate change and he is the author of the popular book, Wild Urban Plants of the Northeast: A Field Guide (2010) that describes common species of trees, shrubs, wildflowers and grasses that flourish in cities without human cultivation.
