Richard Schulhof
Public Gardens Administration
Proposed by: Pasadena Garden Club, Zone XII
As a Los Angeles native, Richard has been the CEO at the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden since 2009. Previously he served as Deputy director at Harvard University's Arnold Arboretum in Boston for seven years. Prior to that he was Executive Director of Descanso Gardens in La Canada-Flintridge, California. Richard relishes the opportunities he has to speak to neighborhood groups and garden clubs where he always "wows" his audiences with his horticultural knowledge and passion for all things California. He also actively supports the American Camellia Society and American Public Gardens Association and local camellia societies in San Francisco and Boston. This support coupled with his commitment to the highest standards in horticulture, his collaborative spirit, especially with non-profits, and his sensitivity to the environment, eminently qualify Richard Schulhof to be one of our 2014 Honorary Members.
