Tovah is an Honorary Member of the Garden Club of America in Zone II and is on the Zone II Speakers List. Tovah gives a fascinating and utterly delightful lecture on topics both indoors and outside, combining elements of the garden past, present and future. Speaking from her vast experience at Logee's Greenhouses and White Flower Farm, her lectures and workshops talk of tropicals as well as perennials, welcoming audience participation. Tovah's latest lectures are: Boot Camp for the Senses as well as Gardening As If the World Depends on Us. She writes frequently for many publications including Gardens Illustrated, Country Gardens, Country Home, Flower, Yankee, and Horticulture. She has also authored The Garden in Every Sense and Season, The Indestructible Houseplant, The Unexpected Houseplant, The New Terrarium, A Time to Blossom: Mothers, Daughters and Flowers, Garden Whimsy, Heirloom Flowers, Tasha Tudor's Garden, Tasha Tudor's Heirloom Crafts, Once upon a Windowsill, The Essence of Paradise and Moments in the Garden.
In May 2008, GCA awarded Tovah the Sarah Chapman Francis Medal for "outstanding literary achievement," and in May 2010, she received Honorary Membership in GCA and in the Litchfield GC. In 2021 Tovah was awarded the Zone II Katherine B. Pitney Award for "houseplants grown for unusual beauty and condition and who is an inspiration to others in the joy of growing houseplants." In 2017 Tovah was the recipient of two Media Awards for feature articles from the Garden Writers Association of America.
Tovah is an accredited Organic Land Care Professional by NOFA. She has taught at the Federated Garden Clubs of CT Gardening Study School. Her most recent book published in April, 2018 is entitled The Garden in Every Sense and Season accompanied by a new lecture – Boot Camp for the Senses.
