Around the Green presented by The Garden Club of America

The Garden Club of America (GCA) invites you to view Around the Green - a GCA Annual Meeting Flower Show. For the first time ever, the flower show will be presented virtually to all 18,000 GCA club members and the public. The flower show schedule honors the legacy of Frederick Law Olmsted, Sr., the founder of American landscape architecture. To view the floral, horticultural, photographic, and educational displays please visit flowershow.gcamerica.org from May through September.

The purpose of a GCA flower show is three-fold: to set standards of artistic and horticultural excellence, to broaden knowledge of conservation, horticulture, floral design, and other related areas, and to share the beauty of a show. Flower shows combine artistic vision, horticultural mastery, engineering, and sophisticated craftsmanship to create a brilliant display of beauty. They also serve to educate about conservation and environmental issues.

The GCA made a rapid pivot beginning in late spring 2020 from destination-based, in-person events to virtual gatherings. Teams of volunteers have been engaged in learning strategies for creating and presenting educational content for member clubs in this new and exciting way.
