Providence Garden Club ReCORKS for Environmental Change

November 01, 2018

Embracing ReCORK, North America’s largest wine cork recycling program, the Providence Garden Club of Pennsylvania has so far collected and shipped 9 boxes containing 126 lbs. of corks. The corks have been collected from local restaurants, country clubs, family, and friends. ReCORK manufactures recycled cork into sustainable products free of harmful materials like foams and plastics.

The Garden Club of Jackson undertook a similar project in Mississippi and inspired the project in Pennsylvania.

Since its inception, ReCORK has more than 3,000 cork collection partners, planted more than 8,000 cork trees, and recycled over 75 million corks. Recycled corks are used to create a variety of eco-friendly products. Community organizations, businesses, garden clubs and individuals can become partners and join in the effort.
