American Wisteria is a twining vine that is native and a welcome alternative to the invasive Asian cousins. It is the hardiest of all wisterias, the vine matures to 20’ and is tolerant of clay and sand. This plant blooms in May and June with blue to purple flowers with a mild-sweet fragrance. It is a repeat bloomer in August. Plant in full sun or part sun. Hardy in USDA Zones 5 to 9.
