2025 The Caroline Thorn Kissel Summer Environmental Studies Scholarship
Atlantic City Shell Recycling Program Internship With the Dept. of Environmental Protection
Working with New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection in the Division of Fish and Wildlife I will do outreach for the Atlantic City Shell Recycling Program. The program collects used oyster shells from the local restaurants and strategically places them in South Jersey estuaries to promote the growth of new oyster reefs. This process is backed by decades of science and is becoming a widespread practice to promote ecosystem health and foster the growth of new reefs on old shell hash.
