Calcium Propionate's Efficacy in Controlling Botrytis Tulipae (tulip Fire)
Botrytis tulipae is called "tulip fire" for good reason; it rapidly disseminates across densely planted tulip display beds. Fungicides have been used to combat this blight but further research is needed into alternate methods that aren't a risk for the applicator and won't promote fungicide resistance. Cut flower producers and greenhouse growers have seen success using calcium propionate in controlling other Botrytis species. This project examines the efficacy of calcium propionate in combating the growth of Botrytis tulipae.
