2015 The Garden Club of America Fellowship in Tropical Botany
Aleksandar Radosavljevic is Ph.D. candidate at Northwestern University and a Smithsonian Institution Predoctoral Fellow. A lifetime lover of plants and maps, his research combines molecular phylogenetics and species distribution modeling to explore the biogeography and systematics of the large pantropical legume genus Cynometra. He is interested in understanding the diversification of the legume family as well as applying species distribution modeling to studies of evolution and biodiversity conservation. The study funded by GCA will take place in Brazilian Amazonas – the largest state in Brazil.
