Determining Selective Cytotoxic and Antibiotic Properties of Teucrium Flavum L. for Public Safety and Medical Advancement
MTT assay on human skin cells and an antibacterial assay targeting antibiotic resistant bacterial skin pathogens. The MTT assay utilizes the HaCaT human skin cell line to determine possible cytotoxic effects of T. flavum. These pathogens include Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Gram positive and negative pathogens, respectively. The goal is to determine the selective cytotoxicity of T. flavum on these bacterias but not on the skin cell line.
The Zeller Summer Scholarship in Medicinal Botany
