Summer Environmental StudyBree Bender
2014 The Garden Club of America Awards for Summer Environmental Studies
Bree Bender, born in Alabama, is now a junior at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point, with an academic concentration in water resources, soil science and wetland science. Her research will examine four small and mid-size reservoirs in central Wisconsin that are impacted by excessive nitrogen from surrounding agricultural activities. Analysis will be done to determine the correlation between retention time, size, organic matter and denitrification rates.
