2022 The Corliss Knapp Engle Scholarship in Horticulture

Research Engineering at Plenty Unlimited
Pedersen supervises the research spaces used by Plenty Unlimited, a vertical vegetable hydroponic startup in the Bay Area, testing new hardware in efforts to make fresh produce available to all. With a background in hydroponic production and electrical engineering, Pedersen will use intersectional knowledge to push the limits of recirculating irrigation systems, HVAC design that captures and collects transpiration, and novel lighting techniques that provide a tailored energy spectrum for the best-tasting fruits and vegetables.
