2014 The Anne S. Chatham Fellowship in Medicinal Botany

Brittany Graf, a Rutgers University student, will investigate Ecuadorian food crops to evaluate potential medical or health benefits. She will conduct workshops in four regions of Ecuador in collaboration with a local university professor using 20 undergraduates and advanced high school students at the different sites offereing them research training. 

The Anne S. Chatham Fellowship in Medicinal Botany

To protect, preserve, and expand knowledge about the medicinal use of plants, thus preventing the disappearance of plants with therapeutic potential. Providing this research opportunity for botanists can, in turn, assist medical science to develop therapies that improve the quality of life of patients and develop life-saving medicines.
