2014 The Garden Club of America Awards for Summer Environmental Studies
Dawn Well, of New York City, is a junior at Columbia University with an academic concentration in sustainable development, with interests in the areas of climate change and habitat destruction. Her program will take her to the mountain chain of the Western Ghats in India, where she will study seasonally dry ecosystems, invasive ecology, conservation, medicinal plants, rain-fed agriculture, human-wildlife conflict and contemporary issues in conservation biology.
