Integrating Above and Belowground Traits: Unraveling Plant Responses to Climate Change
The Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta is experiencing rapid warming, contributing to increased flooding and shifting bird migration patterns, yet the combined effects of these factors are not well understood. This study will examine how plants adjust to these changes by measuring both above and belowground plant functional traits. By studying these traits together, the research aims to provide a clearer understanding of plant responses and ecosystem processes in a changing climate.
