2016 The Katharine M. Grosscup Scholarships in Horticulture
Greg Malone is a master’s student in Integrated Curriculum and Instructional Leadership at the American College of Education and works full time as the Project Manager of the Plant Science Technology Program at Cuyahoga Community College. He volunteers as a coach for the NCLC National Collegiate Landscape Competition and his student teams have had award-winning finishes. He has been the recipient of a grant from Ohio State University to study the growth characteristics of plants grown in alum sludge, a residual of wastewater. He also received a grant from the USDA to train students in high tunnel construction and hydroponic crop production. He will learn ways to inspire today’s horticulture students to serve and improve the green industry for the future.
