2025 The Caroline Thorn Kissel Summer Environmental Studies Scholarship
Global Changes, Local Impacts: Study of Glacial Fjords, Ecosystems and Communities in Greenland
My project studies zooplankton and larval fish communities in response to glacial-fjord dynamics in Greenland. We look at how proximity to glaciers structures communities, influences organism size and impacts biodiversity. We also use stable isotopes to map food webs and trophic interactions and will soon be integrating acoustic data to assess species distributions, diel vertical migration, and predator-prey interactions.
