Genetic Mapping and Recombination Analysis in Hybrid Grapes (vitis X Muscadinia)
This study explores how traits from traditional grapes (Vitis vinifera) and muscadine grapes (Vitis rotundifolia) are passed down to hybrid progeny. The research focuses on understanding how genes are inherited and where they are located, while also investigating why seedless hybrids become sterile. Data on traits like seedlessness, flower type, berry color, plant health, and yield are being collected to identify important genetic regions. This information will help develop better genetic tools for breeding improved varieties in the future.
