Chemical Characterization of Thymus Herba-barona: a Medicinal Plant from the Blue Zone of Sardinia.
This project will focus on a broad phytochemical characterization of Thymus herba-barona, a herbaceous perennial native to Sardinia, Italy. The primary extraction method will involve organic maceration, followed by characterization using high-performance liquid chromatography and spectroscopic techniques. This plant has displayed a wide range of medicinal properties, such as exhibiting antifungal, antiseptic, and antimicrobial characteristics. A complete understanding of its chemical profile can provide insight into further research pertaining to Thymus herba-barona’s medicinal properties.
