The Effects of Carbon Labeling Techniques on Consumer Purchasing Behavior
This research project will examine the effects of carbon labeling techniques on consumer purchasing behavior. The impacts of four types of carbon labels (quantitative, star-rating, quantitative with a color, and quantitative with a color and star-rating) will be studied to determine which design most effectively encourages low-carbon purchasing behavior. In addition, this research project will analyze if consumers can differentiate between carbon labels with different environmental impacts.
