Investigating Bamboo as a Sustainable Alternative to Plastics in Hydroponic Nutrient Film Technique (nft) Systems
This project investigates the feasibility of using bamboo as a sustainable alternative to plastic in Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) hydroponic systems. By comparing a beeswax-sealed bamboo NFT system to a conventional plastic NFT system, the study aims to assess efficiency, durability, and impact on plant growth while addressing public concerns about the artificiality of hydroponics. This project seeks to reduce plastic dependency in controlled-environment agriculture and promote environmentally responsible hydroponic production methods.
