2025 The Clara Carter Higgins Summer Environmental Studies Scholarship
Hokies Abroad - Australia and New Zealand: Wildlife and Environmental Conservation Fieldwork in Australia and New Zealand
This project is a three-and-a-half-week program where we will participate in lectures and classes presented by local scientists, contribute to environmental restoration through hands-on service learning projects, and enrich our education through field activities and workshops. We will also meet with aboriginal tribe members to learn about their historic approach to land use and conservation. Some of the topics of study include, environmental sustainability, ecological restoration, wildlife and forest management, and resource conservation while exploring throughout Australia and New Zealand.
