2014 The Elizabeth Gardner Norweb Summer Environmental Studies Scholarship
Laura Messman of Walnut Creek, CA, is a junior biology and environmental studies major at Oberlin College. A previous Norweb scholar, she plans to return to Cedar Creek, MN, to continue her study by conducting mechanistic water stress tests to determine how stress levels on common prairie plants vary in different water conditions, and how these levels are impacted by climate change. Her scholarship will allow her to buy the necessary equipment to conduct these tests.
