2016 The Garden Club of America Scholarship in Garden History and Design at the Archives of American Gardens
Mark Ahrens is a master’s student of Library and Information Science at State University of New York in Buffalo. He is specializing in School Librarianship and Archives Studies. As an intern for The Archives of American Gardens (AAG), he will assist with promoting and increasing access to the AAG’s materials by helping to develop finding aids, digitizing documents, and assisting with social media initiatives. His undergraduate degree in writing will be helpful for AAG’s social media and outreach efforts.

To encourage the study of garden history and design and, if possible, aid in cataloging The Garden Club of America Collection in the Archives of American Gardens (AAG) at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC.
