Above and Belowground Understory Composition Across a Fire Severity Gradient in Colorado’s Front Range
My research will investigate post-fire understory composition in low-elevation montane forests of Colorado's Front Range. To explore the interaction between fire and community composition, I will sample both aboveground vegetation and the soil seed bank across a fire severity gradient. This study aims to inform knowledge of what species rely on the soil seed bank and how understory communities are responding to novel changes in regional fire regimes.
