Illuminating the Green Spectrum: Effects of Light Quality on Lettuce Growth and Biomass
Illuminating the Green Spectrum: Effects of Light Quality on Lettuce Growth and Biomass investigates how different light spectra affect lettuce growth in controlled environments. The project examines how green, green-blue, green-red, and white LED light influences the growth of two lettuce varieties, Cecelia and Rouxai. Plant responses are measured through fresh weight, dry weight, and leaf size to understand how light quality affects plant productivity. By identifying how green light interacts with other wavelengths, this research helps improve lighting strategies in greenhouses and indoor farms, supporting more efficient food production and better use of energy in controlled-environment agriculture.
