Summer Environmental StudyNyika Campbell
2019 The Clara Carter Higgins Summer Environmental Studies Scholarship
Nyika Campbell is an undergraduate at the University of Colorado, Boulder majoring in ecology and evolutionary biology. Her interests are plant biology and population ecology. This summer she is undertaking a manipulative field study in Colorado’s Front Range to examine how changing climate conditions affect alpine plants. Her work speci cally examines the seedling germination rate of the alpine ower (Geum rossii) in response to warmer weather and early snowmelt across community types. This work will provide an improved ability to predict how plant populations will be affected by climate change across complex landscapes.
