Patricia M. Cordero-Irizarry
Patricia M. Cordero-Irizarry is a master’s student specializing in soil science in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources at The Ohio State University. Awareness of the gravity of the food safety issue in her native Puerto Rico and of the environmental impact of agriculture led her to pursue an agricultural career. She obtained a BSc in Crop Protection from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez. Cordero-Irizarry’s current research focuses on the effect of land management on soil organic carbon stocks, and its influence on the soil’s physical and hydrological properties.
