2023 The Garden Club of America Scholarship in Garden History and Design at the Archives of American Gardens
Archives of American Gardens Internship
Hicks will perform a variety of archival collections management tasks, including cataloging and digitizing, at the Archives of American Gardens of the Smithsonian Institution. In addition to digital asset management of born digital or newly digitized materials, Hicks will also research and write garden history and develop content for social media platforms to promote the holdings of the archives. With previous experience at The People’s Archive in Washington, DC, Hicks will continue to promote a better understanding of natural and cultural stewardship.

To encourage the study of garden history and design and, if possible, aid in cataloging The Garden Club of America Collection in the Archives of American Gardens (AAG) at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC.
