2014 The Garden Club of America Awards for Summer Environmental Studies
Sarah Fischer of Kentucky is a sophomore at Ball State University in Indiana. Her interests reside in art and biology, and she aspires to be a scientific illustrator or ecological artist. She will study in Iceland, a haven for sustainable ideas, under the supervision and strong recommendation from two Ball State University professors. She will travel across Iceland visiting sustainable artists and farmers; filming and blogging about her encounters. Ultimately, Sarah will examine the science of sustainability and create art that sums up her experiences in Iceland. - Fumnded by Darien Garden Club (CT), Zone II and Fairfield Garden Club (CT), Zone II
