2025 The Zeller Summer Scholarship in Medicinal Botany
Role of North Dakotan Medicinal Plants on Gut Inflammation
Our lab is collaborating with United Tribes Technical Institute in North Dakota to investigate the role of traditionally used North Dakotan plants on GI inflammation. We have hypothesized that these botanicals possess phytochemicals capable of modulating GI inflammation through aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) activation. We are also aiming to efficiently identify the specific GI-protective molecules from these plants.
The Zeller Summer Scholarship in Medicinal Botany
To encourage U.S. undergraduate students to expand their knowledge of medicinal botany by pursuing summer study in various projects, courses, and/or internships with supervision and structure.
