Pollination Biology of Raspberries (rubus Idaeus) in Boreal, Agricultural, and Forest Habitats
Berries are a crucial aspect of many rural communities' diets and lifestyles in Alaska. One of the key pieces of information needed to help communities adapt to changes in berry populations is data on berry pollinators and the feasibility of agricultural growth. I conducted surveys of the pollinator community and their visits to one agricultural and two wild berry species plots. In addition, we performed a pollen limitation experiment amongst the three plots to better understand ‘selfing’ behaviors across the varieties of Raspberries in a changing climate.
