Linking Habitat Management, Population Dynamics, and Genetics to Restore the White Fringeless Orchid (Platanthera integrilabia)
This project integrates genetic research with long-term monitoring and habitat restoration to guide recovery of the federally threatened white fringeless orchid (Platanthera integrilabia). By analyzing genetic diversity within and among populations, this work will inform appropriate sourcing for reintroduction and restoration efforts. This research builds on decades of conservation work focused on population dynamics, habitat management, and plant–insect interactions, providing a strong ecological foundation for interpreting genetic patterns. Results will directly inform science-based recovery strategies across the species’ range through coordinated efforts with conservation partners.
