2020 The Katharine M. Grosscup Scholarships in Horticulture
Second-year Grosscup scholar Zachary Fox is an undergraduate studying environmental studies and natural history at Hiram College. He works as a land steward at the college’s 550-acre James H. Barrow Biological Field Station, establishing a 30-acre native grassland, managing invasive species, and conducting a beech leaf disease monitoring project. He also maintains the Environmental Studies Department’s permaculture gardens and is a leader of the Environmental Action Crew and Sustainable Development Committee on campus. Fox plans to earn a master’s degree before entering the field of habitat restoration.
