On Thursday, March 31, The Garden Club of America’s 2022 virtual Photography Conference Focus on Photography: Imagine the Possibilities brought GCA club members together for a unique opportunity to see and interpret the world through the lens. The one-day virtual event featured several renowned photographers lending their creative expertise. Each presentation was followed by a live Q&A.
During the morning session, attendees heard from Clive Nichols, garden and flower photographer, who spoke on The Art of Flower and Garden Photography. His presentation was followed by Robert Rodriguez, Jr., landscape and nature photographer, teacher, and author, with An Introduction to the Magic of Lightroom. The morning session ended with Charlotte Gibb, nature and landscape photographer, and her presentation Getting Intimate: The Intimate Landscape.
Attendees returned for an afternoon session which began with Melissa Groo, wildlife photographer, writer, and conservationist, who spoke about Wild at Heart: Capturing Birds and Wildlife with Passion, Patience and Respect. Next up was Lee Anne White, landscape and botanical photographer, and her presentation Making Better Plant Portraits. The afternoon ended with David Perry, smartphone photographer and his lively presentation on The Smartphone Gardener.
